When Does the Next Course Start?

Our Diploma courses generally start every September, and will run one weekend a month for 10 months. (This is subject to change)

Where is the Course Held?

You have the option to study either in Dublin or Cork.  

In Dublin, the venue is the The Marino Institute of Education (venue subject to change). Free parking

In Cork, the venue is Therapy House, 6 Tuckey Street, Cork City. 

What Qualifications Do I Need In Order to Apply?

No particular qualifications or prior experience is required in order to study our Professional Practitioner Course. 

How Much Is The Course?

The Full Course Fee is €3,000 + a €250 registration fee

You have Three Payment Options:

1 –  Payment in full before the course starts – €2,750, saving you     €500.

2 – Payment of €1,000 before the course starts and 2 more payments of €1,000 on month 3 and month 6, saving you €250.

3 – Registration payment of €250 before the course starts & 10 payments of €300 paid on arrival each weekend (Dublin) or €75 paid on arrival at each weekly class (Cork).

What Qualifications Do I Gain Upon Successful Completion?

You will gain an ICHP Certificate in Hypnosis, halfway through the course, on successful completion of the take-home class assignments. After the final module, on successful completion of the take-home exam and class assignments, you will gain an ICHP Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy & Psychotherapy

Will There Be Homework?

Yes, in addition to time spent in class, you can expect to spend about 10 hours a week in independent study reading and listening to the course materials, completing assignments and practicing techniques etc. Each month you will have an assignment to complete, which you will easily do. This is read through by your tutor to see how well you are taking in all the material covered, and what areas you may need to read more about.

Is There an Exam to Take?

Yes, on the final day of classroom tuition, you are given a Final Exam, which you will have 4 weeks to complete. Upon successful completion, you will receive your diploma.

Is There A Graduation?

Graduation ceremony are generally organised by the class and take place once a year, at which you can be presented with your certificates. This is not compulsory, however, and you can simply have your certificates posted to you. 

Can I Stay Overnight at the Venue?

No, Accommodation is available close to the venue. 

Is the Course Taught Anywhere Else in Ireland?

We are the only training school who teach the ICHP Professional Practitioner Course in Ireland. It is also taught in Australia. 

Who Wrote and Devised the Course Material?

The course was written by Dr. Joe Keaney, Director of the Institute of Clinical Hypnotherapy & Psychotherapy and creator of the BCHAPS model of hypno-psychotherapy. Joe has been training Clinical Hypnotherapists in this method for over 30 years. 

Who Delivers the Course in Ireland?

Dr. Joe Keaney

Joe is Course Director at the ICHP where he has taught hypnotherapy and hypno-analysis for over thirty years. He also has a busy private practice, Cork Hypnotherapy Clinic, in Cork City where he has treated thousands of clients since 1984.

James P. White (M.I.C.H.P)

James is a Hypno-psychotherapist at API Clinic. He is also an experienced mindfulness educator and founder of Mindfulness Schools Ireland. James holds a Masters Diploma in Hypno-Psychotherapy from ICHP. He is accredited by the  APHP and the NRCP.

Is the Course Recognised or Accredited?

Yes, the course is recognised by APHP, NRPC, CHPA, EAPH and the NGH. It meets the minimum standards required for you to be able to join these associations on successful completion of the course.

How Many Students Are In The Group?

We can take up to 12 to 16 students per course. This nice, small group size insures each and every student gets all the individual attention they may need to successfully complete the course. 

Can I Go Into Practice? What Will I Be Able to Work With?

Yes, on successful completion of the course, you can apply for insurance and join a professional association to begin your career as a clinical hypnotherapist. You will be qualified to practice suggestion therapy with your clients working on issues such as; weight management, smoking cessation, anxiety, stress, fears and phobias, emotional issues, habits, motivation, and more.
